Can I just say this has been a suspenseful couple of weeks??
For a minute, it really looked like there might not be any fabric in time for quilt market. Then, it seemed as though most of the fabric would make it, all except for my big centerpiece design. I was told that design might not come out until next spring.
But then, last Thursday I received a box from Kokka that contained about one yard of each fabric except the centerpiece design I just mentioned. That one, I'll see this Thursday, once I'm in Houston. And then I'll go to my hotel room and sew sew sew until I have a few decent samples to show from it.
In the meantime, I learned that Kokka had sent me all the fabric they had from my line (which is still being printed), and that the samples I make with it will be the only ones shown at market. No pressure, or anything.
Fortunately, Rashida from I Heart Linen jumped in to make a few things for me, and Lizzy House has sweetly offered to have me over tomorrow evening at her home in Houston to sew! Tammy Blackburn from Karamat Fabrics will be there, and of course, Allison too (but she doesn't count. she's just there to drink.) We're going to pull this off, I just know it!
Naturally, ALL I have been doing since Thursday evening is sewing for market. Here are a few things I've come up with:
handbags, of course...
...and, naturally, a pile of elephants.
There's actually quite a few more where these came from, but I have to save a few surprises for market! Wish me luck...
